"VOLUNTEERING WITHOUT BORDERS" IN CHERKASY

May, 13, 2008 a presentation of the joint German-Ukrainian project “Volunteering without Borders” took place in the conference-hall of the Cherkasy national university named after Bohdan Hmelnitsky. The project is implemented by the RNGO “Social Partnership Centre” in Sumy and Cherkasy under the financial support of the German Federal foundation “Remembrance, Responsibility and Future” (www.stiftung-evz.de).

The participants of the presentation were: representatives of the local mass media, representatives of all-Ukrainian and local NGOs, students and teachers of Cherkasy higher educational establishments.

SHARING VOLUNTEER MOVEMENT STRENGTHENING EXPERIENCE

April, 17-18, 2008 a training “Special Features of Volunteer Agency Activities Concerning Organization of International Volunteer Exchanges” was conducted for representatives of Cherkasy Volunteer agency and leaders of students’ self-government. It was held by the head of the Sumy Volunteer Agency of the Social Partnership Centre Nataliya Marchenko in its Sumy office.

COOPERATED FOR THE SUCCESS

Regional nonprofit nongovernmental organization “Social Partnership Centre” has concluded an agreement with Cherkasy regional youth resource centre and Sumy local centre for youth leisure concerning joining the efforts and resources for implementation of the “Volunteering without borders” project.
That project has been launched since April 2008 in the Sumy and Cherkasy regions under financial support of the German foundation “Remembrance, Responsibility and Future” („Erinnerung, Verantwortung und Zukunft“).
